start with the architecture, not the app list.
A clearer way to decide what belongs in your commerce stack.
Start with the journey
Before adding a tool, describe the customer or operational problem it should solve. Follow the journey from discovery to purchase, fulfilment and support. An app should have a clear job within that journey.
Name the source of truth
Decide which system owns products, inventory, customers and orders. When multiple tools can change the same information, define the direction of updates and how disagreements are resolved.
Design the failure path
A dependable integration needs more than a successful demo. Plan for missing data, duplicate events and unavailable systems. Make failures visible and recovery understandable.
Keep the stack explainable
Document what each system does and why it exists. A smaller, understandable stack is often easier to improve than one assembled around overlapping features.
